The annual South Carolina Horsemen's Council Expo was held last weekend in Camden at the new horse park. South Carolina Ag Commissioner, Hugh Weathers says the Camden Bicentennial Equine Park is a good place to hold events like the SCHC Expo. The refurbished Park will have a major economic impact on the state as venues for educational, community and buiness events along with retail and hospitality establishments.
Commissioner Weathers says that there are also other horse parks in the area with renowned facilities, such as one planned for Aiken County, which currently houses about 40 polo fields, and is the number one polo spot in the nation. Also, the T. Ed Garrison Arena at Clemson University is recognized as one of the premier multi-purpose livestock facilities in the Southeeast. Garrison Arena provides millions of dollars in economic impact for the state every year.
