 This week will be the Annual SC Future Farmers of America Association Convention, and SC Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers says that FFA is a part of agricultural education porgrams at high schools and colleges throughout the state. Students are engaged in a wide range of curriculum and FFA activities, leading to over 300 career opportunites in agriculture.
The Commissioner goes on to say that there are over 5,500 members statewide and over 11,000 student in agricultural education classes and that some SC state leaders have a background in FFA, including Senator Strom Thurmond, former Governor Carroll Cambell, as well as some modern household names like Taylor Swift, Don Henley of The Eagles among others.
