Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend in SC

Memorial Day weekend is upon us and people will be waving flags and participating in parades, as well as "unofficially" marking the beginning of summer.

Due to the economy, some folks might not be able to take a regular vacation, so SC Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers suggests a "stay-cation".  SC has many farms just a few miles from any location within the state that offer agritourism opportunities.  More South Carolina farmers are including agritourism activities as part of their marketing mix to add value to their operations.  Some agritourism stops are part of the Heritage Corridor Farmers Association, which offers visitors opportunities to enjoy the farming experience first hand.
