COLUMBIA, S.C.- The State Farmers Market in West Columbia is the place to be this Saturday for a 'honking' good time. The market is the site of Saturday's Touch-A-Truck event, sponsored by the Junior League of Columbia, and the weekly indoor spring market inside the Corbett Building.

Touch a Truck features all things that go! Kids have the opportunity to explore big vehicles like fire trucks, cement trucks, bulldozers, and school buses, and meet the fine people who build, protect and serve the Midlands. This community event also features family-friendly entertainment, plus information on healthy eating from JLC's Kids in the Kitchen. There will be mascots, face painting, and other amusements to round out the fun. Touch-A-Truck begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. and costs $6 per person. Children under one are admitted free with a paying adult. Tickets are available the day of the event.

The Certified SC Indoor Spring Market is the place to support local growers who are selling a wide variety of fresh SC Grown produce, and other items unique to South Carolina offered by the SC Specialty Foods Association members. The market is this, and each Saturday until June 30, it starts at 9 a.m. inside the Corbett Building.

While at the market, be sure to make it a special outing for the entire family, and stop by Judy's Restaurant, inside the Corbett Building, to fuel up with a delicious lunch proudly made-from-scratch with local ingredients.

The market is located at 3483 Charleston Highway in West Columbia and isconvenient to Interstates 26 and 77.
