How do our bodies balance our food intake and the amount of energy we use?
 

Well, scientists from The Scripps Research Institute have made the discovery of a specific gene that plays
an important role in keeping a steady balance between our food intake and energy expenditure. They
discovered this gene’s impact on metabolism by studying mice. This new discovery could help scientists
develop drugs that influence metabolism without major side effects to help in the fight against obesity
and related disorders such as diabetes.
