With the animal research minute, I’m Liz Hodge, in Washington. Could new research help both dogs and people with spinal cord injuries. Well, according to USDToday pet owners have enrolled their dogs with spinal cord injuries in new experimental studies to see if a revolutionary treatment could help their pets. The treatment is a series of shots and scientist are hopeful that these shots could make these dogs better, and then one day help people too. This new research is a win/win situation that has the potential to improve the lives of these dogs and the quarter of a million people in the US who are living with spinal cord injuries.
