To keep ahead of possible future funding reductions, the National Agriculture Statistics Service is discontinuing or reducing a wide range of agricultural survey programs. The service says the decision to eliminate or reduce these reports was not made lightly, but it was nevertheless necessary, given the funding situation.
The reports to be eliminated are: Annual Reports on Farm Numbers, Land in Farms and Livestock Operations; Catfish and Trout Reports; Annual Floriculture Report; January Sheep and Goat Report; July Cattle Report; Distiller Co-Products for Feed Survey; Annual Bee and Honey Report; Annual Hops Production Report; and the Annual Mink Report.
Changes in report schedules include: Reducing the frequency of commodity coverage of Chemical Use Reports; Reducing from monthly to quarterly the Monthly Potato Stocks Report; and Continuing only the January, March and August Rice Stocks reports. |
