Well, according to AFP, new research with rats suggests marijuana could be a viable treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder, also known as PTSD. Scientists found that when rats were treated with marijuana within 24 hours of a traumatic experience the rats did not show symptoms of PTSD. Researchers stress the importance that the marijuana treatment needed to be administered within 1 day in order to prevent PTSD symptoms. While more research is needed, this study gives scientists hope that marijuana could also be used to help people avoid PTSD.
