Animal Research Minute - Dark Chocolate & Weight Loss

When we’re trying to lose weight, we cut back on sweets like chocolate and try to get more exercise. But could chocolate actually help us workout harder?
Well, the Independent reports that new research suggests a compound in dark chocolate actually boosts endurance in mice. Scientists studied mice whose diets were supplemented with the compound and found these mice significantly outperformed normal mice on the treadmill. If you need more motivation to add small amounts of dark chocolate to your diet, it has also shown to decrease blood pressure too.
