Well, HealthDay News reports that new research with rats shows that as we indulge in fatty foods, our bodies release chemicals that travel to the brain and trigger cravings for more fat. Rats that were fed liquid solutions of fat, sugar or protein binged when they were given liquid with fat. Scientists think our bodies react to fat this way because it was evolutionarily necessary for people to store up fat whenever it was available. This research could help scientists develop treatments to stop people from overeating.
