Weekly Drought Monitor: NC, SC, VA

South Carolina:

The Moderately Dry northern and southern counties increased from 27.62% to 30.59% of the state. The Abnormally Dry region spread through the center to cover 98.59% of the area. The southern most counties show Severe drought at 10.03% and along the border area shows 1% Extreme drought conditions.

North Carolina:

The Moderately Dry reported area increased  this week from 36.70% to 50.83% in the central region of the state. The eastern coast increased to 14.39% Severe drought conditions.  The Abnormally Dry area increased from  67.80% to 80.47%. Only 19.53% of the state remains Drought Free at this time.

Virginia:

The coastal tidewater increased to 14.91% reported as Moderately Dry. The Abnormally Dry southeastern area increased this week to 25.93%. So far the northern and western 74.07% of the state remains Drought Free.
