Vice President of Domestic Marketing Ceci Snyder says the Pork Checkoff unveiled the new campaign to pork producers first. That happened a month ago at the National Pork Industry Forum and the reception has been positive…

“So far, so good. We’ve had tremendous interest from all along the pork chain, from our customers on the retail and food service side, with producers and with media. It’s been very good.”

Since the original announcement about the ‘Be Inspired’ promotional effort - the Pork Checkoff has enjoyed tremendous media attention. Snyder offers one example…

“We had terrific responses from producers at Forum, the annual. But, we also secured a business story that day with the Associated Press, I hope the producers saw that. The down side to that story was that they said “The Other White Meat” is going away which it is not, of course, we’re still using “The Other White Meat”. But, that story, just working with one reporter generated some 2,600 and some stories online, TV and newspapers, so it really got a lot of attention, lot of momentum for people to be keyed up to watch for our marketing. So, a real success story of how working with one reporter behind the scenes, that’s what the checkoff can do, really spread the word about our new campaign.”
