Economic Perspective - Merging Duke Power and Progress Energy

Dr. Mike Walden, NCSU Economist, discusses the impact of the "power marriage" between Duke Power and Progress Energy.  The biggest factor of this merger is ecnomies of scale - the bigger the company, the cheaper they can generate energy.  Rates under this combined company are expected to be somewhat lower than current energy costs.
