Well, according to the Telegraph, it does if you’re a mouse. In a new study, scientists found the harder mice worked to get food, the more they valued it. The scientists also found mice preferred the taste of the food they worked for better than other food. So in principle it seems effort and hard work actually enhances the flavor of food. This knowledge means scientists could figure out ways to teach us to prefer healthy food to sugary or fatty treats. This could have important implications for the obesity epidemic including helping to prevent obesity-related diseases.
