SC Ag Council to Hold Quarterly Meeting

The South Carolina Ag Council annnounced today they willl hold their quarterly meeting on Thursday, May 17, 2012.

The meeting will focus on "New Technology in Agriculture.” Speakers will be - Jason Rodgers, Farm Manager at Titan Farms in Ridge Spring, SC and Lyn Perkins, Solutions Manager for Blanchard Equipment in Statesboro, GA . Topics will include variable rate application, yield monitoring, data management, agriculturally related cell phone apps, operating irrigation systems by cell phone, and even having tractors call a grower’s cell phone.

After the presentations, Farm/City Week awards will be presented by Dr. Tom Scott, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences at Clemson.

If you would like to attend this meeting, please contact Steve Slice, Secretary-Treasurer of the SC Ag Council. The cost of the meeting (includes catered lunch) is $8.00 - Advanced reservation for council members and their invited guests or $12.00 - Nonmembers and Anyone "At the Door" . Please RSVP for the meeting no later than May 11th.

The meeting will be held at the S.C. Farm Bureau Office located at 724 Knox Abbot Drive in Cayce, S.C.

Registration for the meeting begins at 9:30 am, with the meeting following at 10 am.
