Animal Research Minute - Could a supplement prevent a dangerous liver condition?

Well, according to the Telegram, researchers studying rats have found that the food supplement
creatine has been shown to prevent fatty liver disease – a condition caused by excess alcohol and fatty
food. Fatty liver disease can ultimately lead to insulin resistance, fibrosis, cirrhosis and even liver
cancer. Rats that were given creatine in their water did not develop fatty liver disease, even when
eating poor diets, so researchers are hopeful this supplement could also benefit people.
