NC Extension Announces Wheat Field Days

North Carolina State Extension has set three field days around the state.  The first is the South-Central Field day on May 8th getting underway at 4:00 pm at the Wildon Shooter & Sons Farm near Rowland. 

Topics to be discussed will be the impact of mowing 'big wheat', soul pH & manganse, pop-up fertilizers, nitrogen managment, seeding rates and  much more.

The seond field day is the Beaufort County Field Day scheduled for May 10th at 4:00 pm at Granny Branch Farms near Aurora.  Topics at that Field day include a wheat variety update, herbicide control of annual bluegrass, and more.  For more information or directions click here:  http://www.smallgrains.ncsu.edu/_Misc/BCFieldDay.pdf

And then the final field day scheduled will be May 15th, and is billed the Small Grains Field Day and will be held at the Piedmont Research Station near Salisbury.  Registration for this event is scheduled for 3:30 pm with tours starting at 4:00.  Topics on the agenda are a herbicide update, softwheat and bread wheat varieites, and more.  For more information click here:http://www.smallgrains.ncsu.edu/_Misc/PRSFieldDay.pdf
