The NC state Fair recenly was slected by the United Soybean Board for the 2012 Green Ribbon Fairs Program.  NC Ag Commissioner Steve Troxler explains that it was one of 13 fairs around the country selected for the  program.

Troxler says that the State Fair has a history of using soy-based biofuels for the heating of buildings and to power the carnival generators during the fair.  Funding for the porgram comes from the national soybean checkoff through the United Soybean Board, and the Checkoff will reimburse fairs for suing soy biodiesel and other soy-based products.
