Another Cathcart Receives Ag Leadership Award

COLUMBIA, SC  Austin D. Cathcart of Irmo, SC, a 2020 graduate of Clemson University with a BS degree in Agricultural Education, has been named recipient of the John W. Parris Agricultural Leadership Award presented by the Clemson Collegiate FFA Organization.

Austin was recognized for his outstanding leadership and personal dedication to the Collegiate FFA Organization as president and as a delegate to the National FFA Convention. He also conceived the idea of the first State FFA Officer Candidate Summit and served as chairman.

A past president of the State FFA Association, Austin will enter graduate school at Clemson University this fall.

Austin, the son of Christopher and Robin Cathcart of Irmo, SC, is an active member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church near Columbia, SC.

The John W. Parris Agricultural Leadership Award is named in honor of Mr. Parris of Columbia, a nationally recognized leader in agricultural education and natural resource conservation with more than 60 years of professional service.
