Animal Research Minute – Could scientists train our fat to actually burn calories?

Well, according to University of California, San Francisco, scientists are discovering how to teach our fat cells to burn calories, instead of storing them. In a new study, scientists discovered a protein found in both people and mice can turn fat cells, which normally store fat, into cells that actually burn it. This means scientists could develop drugs to target this protein and burn calories. This discovery could become a major advancement in the war against obesity.
