Animal Research Minute – Could fasting weaken cancer?
Well, according to AFP, new research with mice suggests fasting could not only weaken tumors, but also make chemotherapy more effective. Scientists studying mice with cancer found mice that fasted during chemotherapy had better results than mice that didn’t. It seems fasting boosts the effects of chemotherapy and also helps to make tumors more vulnerable. Scientists are not yet sure if this same approach holds true for people, but this interesting research is shedding light on the development of more effective cancer therapies.
