2017 Census of Ag Set to Begin in December

Once again, it’s time for the five-year Census of Agriculture.  Farmers should be receiving a packet in the mail in the next week or so, and NC Ag Commissioner Steve Troxler is encouraging all to fill out the census and return it.

The information gathered from the census is used by various entities, both at the state and federal level to determine policy, and programs for agriculture.

If the census isn’t returned, a producer will receive a call from a census enumerator, and at that time the census can be filled out with the assistance of the enumerator over the phone.

The deadline to return the census is in February.
