South Carolina Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers is advising producers that this is the year for the Ag Census. This census takes place only once every five years and is very important for agriculture as a whole, as well as for South Carolina producers.
The first part of the census is in the mail now, and this part is to make sure that active agricultural producers are involved in the census which will go out later this year.
Commissioner Weathers says that there's no violation of privacy in participating in the census, and it's important to know that this is the leading source of facts an figures about American agriculture and hte only source of cinsistent and comprehensive agricultural data for every state in the nation.
