150th Edition of the NC State Fair in the Books

The 150th edition of the NC State Fair wrapped up Sunday night.  NC Ag Commissioner Steve Troxler says 1,014,478 people attended the fair this year, which is the fourth largest total on record.

Speaking of records, in addition to the Junior Livestock Sale of Champions setting a record at $182,500, the State Fair recorded the largest pumpkin ever at 1,458.5 pounds and the largest watermelon at 3,16 pounds.

Also, this was the first year for the Our State Public House, where North Carolina’s craft beer and wine industry was on display.

Commissioner Troxler says work has already begun on the 2018 fair.
